Thrilled to showcase The Body in Space by Marie Smith, an audio-visual piece selected from our Bloc Members’ Billboard Commission. Pay a visit anytime outside our Eyre Lane gallery in Sheffield.
This creation contemplates Marie's interaction with landscape and the body in space. Forged during her Spanish residency, it starkly contrasts dryness and gravel with the textures of British landscapes, evoking reflections on one's relationship with nature and identity in solitude. Through collaged analogue photography and a recording of Marie's solitary walks, The Body in Space navigates the intricate realm of introspection.
