Art News Monthly is an independent editorial platform covering contemporary art and culture through exhibition reports, art event coverage, critical reviews, interviews and in-depth essays.
The platform follows significant developments across the international art world, while giving particular attention to emerging artists, independent spaces and cultural initiatives that may receive limited coverage elsewhere. Rather than simply announcing exhibitions and events, Art News Monthly considers their artistic, social and historical contexts.
Working with a strong network of critics, curators, writers and cultural practitioners, the platform publishes serious, carefully considered reviews and critical texts. Its aim is to create space for informed discussion, encourage rigorous cultural criticism and connect contemporary artistic practice with the wider questions shaping society today.

Shamsul Haque is the owner of Artist News Ltd, the publishing company behind Art News Monthly. As Publisher, he oversees the platform’s commercial and organisational development, supporting its long-term growth and commitment to independent coverage of contemporary art and culture.
Oisín McGilloway

Oisín McGilloway is an emerging editor and art practitioner based between Belfast and London. He is the founding editor of the independent publication mov.r magazine, which he developed from the ground up as a grassroots editorial and print project.
At Art News Monthly, McGilloway leads the platform’s editorial direction, commissions new writing and works with contributors to produce thoughtful and accessible coverage of contemporary art and culture. His approach is informed by independent publishing, experimental print design and a commitment to giving greater visibility to emerging voices.
Federica Confalonieri

Milan
Federica Confalonieri is an art director and designer based in Milan. Her practice focuses on bold typography, visual identity systems, editorial design and detailed packaging.
She has worked across cultural, media and lifestyle projects, collaborating with international companies, including Netflix, as well as independent Italian brands. As Art Director of Art News Monthly, she is responsible for shaping the platform’s visual identity across digital publishing, printed materials, campaigns and special editorial projects.
